Harambee

Harambee is the Kiswahili word meaning "Togetherness", and this is what FOL volunteer projects are all about - Irish and Kenyans working together on community development projects. The projects include Health, Water and Education projects as well as running Summer Camps for local children.

FOL organises Harambee projects every 2 years, and these are open to everyone over 18 years of age. The entry requirements for volunteers is that you must be flexible and a team player! That's all! FOL provides all training necessary for the project. All costs are paid by the volunteers, and each volunteer raises money towards the projects themselves.
