Community Groups

Friends of Londiani works with many Community Groups in the Kipkelion District. These Groups are men and women who have come together for education purposes (such as increased knowlege and awareness of HIV/AIDS), or for income generating projects.

FOL works in partnerships with these groups with the aim of alleviating poverty in their communities. FOL has run many group seminars, and provided trainings on project proposals, sustainable livelihoods, finance etc.

Contribution to Millennium Development Goals:

• Goal1 - Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger . This goal aims to reduce by half the proportion of people living on less than a dollar a day, and to reduce by half the proportion of people who suffer from hunger.

FOL will continue to work with Community Groups to help alleviate poverty in the Kipkelion District, and to enable the communities there to become the authors of their own development.
