FOL works in partnership with the communities to develop self-sustaining projects in the areas of water, health and education. 

Since 2002 FOL has expanded to the surrounding villages and has seen over 150 Irish volunteers travel to Kenya to work in the village on the following projects:

1. Education: Health clubs in schools, Life skills programme & adult literacy
2. Water: rainwater collection tanks & water systems.
3. Health: improving medical facilities & promoting the awareness of health topics such as HIV/AIDS and malaria.
4. Building: schools, community centres & medical clinics

Friends of Londiani has many volunteers willing to visit schools and give a presentation of the work in Kenya. The slideshow is designed for the CSPE units of ‘The Community ‘ and ‘Ireland & the World’ with an emphasis on the core concepts of Rights and Responsibilities, Human Dignity and Development.
