Water Tank Project

12 water tanks were installed in the nearby village of Lelsothet. These are community water tanks and will allow the community to have clean easily accessible water for many years to come.

Children's Summer Camp

A Summer Camp was organised and ran for the 62 children in the Bethel Faith Home and Training Centre. Various games, songs, crafts, music and sports were organised over 2 weeks for all the children. The camp ended with a concert for the local community involving all the children.

Computer classes were held for the women of Bethel Home and the children. Computers were donated by various firms in Ireland and shipped to Kenya earlier this year.

Painting

Lots of painting of the local school, home and its surroundings was completed by all teams throughout the Summer.

Youth Club

A Youth Club was organised and run in the evenings for the older children in the home. Topics covered included HIV/AIDS, Crafts, Music. The club was a huge success and very popular with the older children.

Mini Clinics

Gardening

There is a tree nursery in the home in Londiani, and all teams spent time weeding the trees to allow them to grow. The Manageress of the home was very grateful for the work completed.

Peer Education

Literacy Programme

A literacy programme was run for some women and men who work in the Bethel Faith Home, but who did not know how to read or write English. This programme was very successful, and we hope to continue similar programmes in the future.

Ndubusat Project Site

Water Project

The aim of the water project is to bring clean running water to several tanks in the village. In the future we hope to pipe it to further villages in this area.

The water pipes have now been brought 5km to the Tinderet forest in Ndubusat. All materials for the water tanks and dam have been delivered to the various sites, and work has begun. Soon the community in Ndubusat will have clean water.

Hospital Project

The hospital is now up to roof level and work has begun on the inside of the building. The toilets and shower building is also under construction. Beds are been made in Nairobi and will be delivered once completed.

Malaria Nets

In total over 600 homes benefited frmo our malaria net project. We hope to continue this over the coming months in the areas where people are especially vunerable to malaria

Ndubusat Primary School

The school has been transformed totally since work began few months ago. All windows and floors are now complete. Each school block has veranda, footpath and steps to each classroom. The plastering of the inside walls has now started and once this is completed, painting will start. Desks, and cupboards are being made by a local carpenter. The pupils and teachers are very excited about their new school.

Peer Education

The Peer Education project will continue for many years to come. We have now several trainers in both project sites, both men and women, who are willing to train and spread the education. It will be co-ordinated by Anna Mainek who lives in Lelsothet village.

Mini Clinics

The mini clinic program was also hugely successful. All schools who were part of this programme have expressed their thanks and gratitude. We donated all teaching materials to the local schools so that education can continue.

Summer Camp

The Summer Camp was a big hit among the children and adults in Ndubusat. Every day 300 children came to learn songs, crafts, games, sports etc.Even the adults and teachers joined in some of the games!

The project has been a huge success, and plans for the future are already being made.
