Friends of Londiani, Ireland is a registered charity (CHY16505) which was set up in 2002.
Our mission is to work in partnership with the people of the Kenyan community of Londiani, and its surrounding villages, to develop and complete sustainable community projects to enable the people to achieve an improved quality of life based on their values and become the authors of their own development.
The Friends of Londiani will endeavour to achieve these goals in a spirit of co-operation and mutual respect with one another and with the people of the area.
This partnership will enable members of Friends of Londiani to further develop skills and a deeper cultural understanding.
Friends of Londiani is committed to contributing to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This is done through community projects in the broad areas of health, water and education. Suitable projects are identified through a needs-analysis done in partnership by the Friends of Londiani and the relevant community. Volunteers are a core part of the work that Friends of Londiani does and volunteers form the backbone of FOL in both Ireland and Kenya.
